See historic Alexandria in a whole new light this holiday season! Three of Old Town Alexandria’s finest historic sites will welcome guests and open their doors for the festive Historic Alexandria Candlelight Tour program. This year’s tour will include Carlyle House Historic Park, Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, and Lee-Fendall House. The 2014 event blends chocolate and history through special tastings, seasonal decorations, period music, and tours highlighting chocolate through time.

VETERAN’S DAY DISTILLERS FESTIVAL – FALLS CHURCH

Veteran’s Day Spirits Festival

Falls Church Distillers, the only privately-owned distillery local in Fairfax County, and Decorate a Vet, a Non-Profit dedicated to assisting local Northern Virginia veterans to repair personal veteran dwellings announced they will co-produce the Veteran’s Day Distiller’s Festival, on November 11, 2017, from 1pm – 8pm.

The event, the first of its kind in Northern Virginia (NOVA), will be held on the street in front of Falls Church Distillers at 442 South Washington Street, Falls Church, VA, and will feature commercial vendors, live music and available wares of spirits, wine, beer and food from local participating distillers, vineyards and restaurants. The majority of all proceeds will benefit the Decorate a Vet organization.

The Event

Boo at the Zoo features more than 40 treat stations and after-hours access to exhibits, including the Small Mammal House, Reptile Discovery Center and Great Cats. Kids will love grooving to the music on the entertainment stage, featuring kids scary-oke. And don’t miss the extreme pumpkin-carving demonstrations! By the end of the evening, your Boo at the Zoo treat bags will be brimming with your favorite chocolates, snacks and souvenirs.

The All Things Go Fall Classic takes place at DC’s historic Union Market.

Enjoy great food and music all weekend long.  I recommend buying tickets in advance as they might sell out.

Join the museum in celebrating 50 years of being the premier cultural institution east-of-the-river!  Live performances on an outdoor stage include Experience Unlimited (EU) with Sugar Bear, 17th Street Dance of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, Pepe González, the Wong People and others.  WPGC 95.5 FM be broadcasting live with morning host Joe Clair.  There will also be food, art activities for the kids, storytelling, a vendor’s marketplace, and more.   Activities will take place inside and outside of the museum.

A shuttle will be running on a continuous loop to and from the Anacostia Metro (green line).  The event will go on rain or shine! FREE.
